Lúgh Studio Has a New Website!
05/01/19
We are proud to announce that we have updated our website!
I’m sure that some of you are aware that we’ve done a site redesign, but this is the official launch of the site!
So why did we redesign our site? Lúgh Studio saw that our site needed a well-deserved makeover. We audited our old site, pointed out the good parts, and found places that needed a lot of improvement.
So, how exactly did we update the site? We looked at the functionality of the old site. It felt at times clunky and some of the copy felt wordy and packed with information, or confusing to navigate. Our team had to answer the question: How do we optimize the site without straying from our brand?
Lúgh’s Art Director, James Evans, and Head Web Designer, Gedalya Krycer, collaborated in designing and developing the website. With James designing the aesthetic elements, and Gedalya developing the functional elements, they’ve built a beautifully simple website. The balance between form and function can be seen in the seamless scrolling and animations, and the easy to navigate pages with a clear path for the user.
Their main goal for the new site was to provide a simple, direct, and enjoyable experience on our site. They wanted to make our site match the level of expertise that we have provided our clients. By looking at the work we’ve done for our clients and understanding the current trends in today’s websites, Gedalya and James both brought forward the ideas and the ability to make these changes. The new website is a great upgrade from the old one. It does have similar elements to our old site, we’ve kept the same color scheme and structure for consistency. We’ve stayed true to our brand but tidied up the site to make it easier to navigate. The main difference is the work and about us pages, where we completely re-did the layout of both.
One of the biggest challenges our team faced when they created the site was content creation. Each button, link, animation, and text had to have a purpose in the flow of the website. We knew what we wanted to have on the site, we just needed to find or create the elements we needed.
James and Gedalya’s vision for the pages was to be able to show the work we’ve done or are capable of doing for our clients in an easy-to-use format. With the help of the developers, they were able to make what would have been a large and hard-to-manage page, look and feel flawless by creating a Pinterest-style grid system showcasing the work.
We are very proud of the work we’ve done on the website. With the addition of the new Work page, and the more in-depth About Us section.
