Gutenberg vs. Elementor

“Gutenberg vs. Elementor.”

If you have a website, this is likely a debate you have come across.

Both are great page builders available to WordPress users, and both have their own pro’s and con’s for different use cases.

Let’s give into a comparison.

What Are Gutenberg and Elementor?

Let’s start out with a quick explanation of what they are.

Gutenberg is WordPress’s block editor. Since its release back in 2018, it has been the standard default content editor on the site. The overall goal of Gutenberg was to simplify the first-time user experience of WordPress.

  • Gutenberg Vs. Elementor: A Comparison

Elementor, released in 2016, is the most popular WordPress page builder. Loaded with features and known for its fast development, it’s no surprise Elementor has over five million installs.

Gutenberg: The entire purpose of Gutenberg’s “block system” was to make it easy to use. And that’s exactly what it did. Gutenberg isn’t as advanced as Elementor, which makes it a good fit for somebody using WordPress for the first time. Keep in mind, though, that some people think Gutenberg isn’t so intuitive.

If you don’t have so much experience with website design, but you want to get up and running (a business blog is a good example) Gutenberg is probably the one you want to go with.

Elementor: Elementor is more advanced than Gutenberg. While this isn’t a problem for experienced web designers, it can be too much for beginners. Even overwhelming. Because of the sheer number of options, this isn’t the best choice if you are looking for something quick and easy.

However, if you take the time to learn all of the features, Elementor can be a great choice. Because of the wide range of editing options available, Elemntor has a higher level of flexibility than Gutenberg.

That means Elementor is a good fit for somebody looking to expand their website and willing to take the time to learn how to use it.

Choose One And Get Going!

The most important thing is just to get started.

If you have a website for your business and want to add and design pages for it, both Gutenberg and Elementor are worthy choices!
