5 Tips For Success For Black Friday 2022

Black Friday 2022 is in just a few weeks. This is the time of the year that many companies stand to massively benefit from – if they approach it the right way.

With that in mind, we’ve gathered five of our tips that can help you have a profitable Black Friday this year. While these are no guarantees of success, they are certainly a collection of tips worth considering.

5 Tips For Success For Black Friday 2022

1) Look at what you did last year

Did you run a Black Friday promotion last year? If so, what worked, and how can you repeat it this year? It’s equally important to examine where you might have failed and how you can avoid repeating the same mistakes.

One of the biggest reasons for a company underperforming during Black Friday is that they offer a great deal…but a deal that nobody is particularly interested in. So do your research. What did you audience actually buy last year? How can you offer them more of the same?

2) Examine what is working in your industry

Black Friday is one of the most important days of the year for businesses. A lot of them will make a decent amount of money on this day (and on Cyber Monday), and a few might even make the majority of their revenue. Most businesses are somehow participating in Black Friday. While this means more competition…it also means more inspiration.

Look at the businesses most successful in your industry. What do they do different than everybody else, and what do their main offers look like? Take note – you might learn something you can apply to your own plan!

This can mean a number of different things. Maybe you should try out a new form of advertising. Maybe you implement a new content type. Maybe you give collaborations with “influencers” a shot. Regardless of what you try, examine what the “winners” in your industry are doing, and then give it a try. You never know what will work during Black Friday 2022.

3) Connect your offer to things people could not do during the COVID pandemic

2022 has been the first year that things have gotten somewhat back to normal after the pandemic. This means (as the numbers show) that people are spending more money on things they weren’t able to buy the past two years. Above all else, this specifically means in-person events and travel. Are you in either of these industries, or can you somehow connect your Black Friday offers to them? If so, you stand a chance of connecting your offer to exactly what people are actually spending money on.

Of course, this isn’t always realistic, depending on what it is exactly that you sell. Still, it’ worth considering. You might be surpised how a slight switch in angle can have much higher success for your campaigns!

4) Implement user generated content as much as possible

User generated content is one of the most powerful assets you can implement during Black Friday 2022. That’s because it’s authentic and wins peoples’ trust faster than just about anything else. The fact is, people love to hear from other customers. It gives them a feeling of ease when choosing to invest in your offer. It also makes your brand seem much more real and makes it stand out from the crowd.

There are a number of different ways you can implement user generated content during Black Friday 2022. One of the most useful (and easy to do) are testimonials. Show your audience videos of people praising your product. If possible, get testimonials from people that bought specifically during Black Friday last year. This will appeal more directly to people looking to make the same purchase this year.

5) Use the power of bundles

Bundles (or collections of products or services all at one flat price) are powerful. They represent a great deal, and are often a chance for your audience to snap up a number of different products at a great price.

They also simplify your marketing, in a lot of ways. If people get everything you have to offer (say, online courses for example), it’s quite easy to set that up. This includes the content you will make surrounding the offer, email flows you will send, and whatever kind of payment is required. This is different from the more “customized” (but less easy to scale) approach of simply offering all your products ay a discount.

At the end of the day, people shopping during Black Friday 2022 are looking for a great deal. Bundles are one of the best ways to provide them that deal. For more actionable information, check out this guide to bundle best practices.
